Coach Frank Cristiano sits down to discuss his relationship with Coach Don Edick. From his first years playing football from 1985 to 1987, Edick was a mentor to Frank. His leadership on and off the field brought unprecedented success to New Hartford. After not playing much in high school, Frank decided to walk on at Arizona State. With a group of 80 kids trying out, Frank was given a spot because Edick made a call to Arizona State telling them to take a chance on him. Frank then transferred to Cortland where he became a 3 year starter on the offensive line. After graduating, Frank went on to work on Coach Edick's staff where he became very successful. Frank said nobody was more loyal than Coach Edick. He was ahead of his time developing a weight training program and instilling toughness in players. Frank saw Don recently before he passed and was grateful to be able to thank him one last time for never giving up on him. Frank owns Tony's Pizzeria and Fat Katz Comedy Club in Washington Mills, NY. Also, he owned Lotta Burger, Smoking Gun Saloon and Audelicious in Utica which are no longer in business. Lotta Burger was actually good.
